The true Maeng Da comes only from the heart of Borneo island in the Indonesian region which is credited as one of the first ever kratom plantations for commercial purposes. This region is known to supply the best-quality Maeng Da that is harvested from the well-nourished leaves rich in alkaloid content. The White Maeng Da Kratom coming from the same region is considered most authentic but it is not easily available.

The three main alkaloids involved in the White Meang Da Kratom are mitraphylline, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. In total there are around 30 of the alkaloids involved. The Maneg Da is also famous for having more alkaloids and active compounds than any kratom strains out there.

Just like any other Kratom strain, the Maeng Da comes in several sub-varieties that are distinguished based on their “Vein Color”.

Scientifically, the color of the veins is affected by the alkaloid concentration in the leaf. Starting with the green, it transforms into a white kratom and then darker shade of red. Each of these strains has its own unique sets of properties besides indicating the life cycle of the leaf.
